#QTeamFaves: Sharon’s Thanksgiving Sausage And Rosemary Stuffing

Our team of real estate agents, both buyers and sellers agents, have been working together long enough that we feel like family. That’s why we chose to celebrate Thanksgiving together, a few weeks early, to commemorate a very eventful year.
We all brought a dish to pass. Carolena brought the most amazing sweet potato pie recipe (call the office and ask her for it!), Brad made a mountain of mashed potatoes, Tony brought a plate of hors d’oeuvres, & Sharon made the turkey and the rest!
While we’d love to share every recipe, we’ve decided to share Sharon’s favorite: the Sausage and Rosemary Stuffing recipe she’s been trying to perfect for the past few years. We think she’s done it!

Ingredients

– 8 c. stuffing cubes (feel free to make your own, but store bought work just as well!)
– 1 stick butter (unsalted)
– 1 c. diced celery
– 4-5 garlic cloves, chopped
– 1lb Italian sausage
– 2 3/4 c. chicken broth
– 1 egg, beaten
– 1 Tb fresh chopped rosemary
– 1 Tb fresh chopped sage
– 1/4 c. fresh chopped parsley
– 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. pepper

Directions

Before you start, make sure you have a large frying pan, a large mixing bowl, and a large baking dish. Next, preheat your oven to 350°F and then you’re ready to get started.
Add the stuffing cubes to the large mixing bowl. Grab your frying pan and the stick of butter.
Melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add the celery and onions, and stir for up to 10 minutes or until the veggies are soft. Add the garlic and cook for another minute, and then transfer the veggies to the mixing bowl with the bread.
Wipe down your pan with a paper towel, or give it a quick rinse with water. Using the same pan, you can start to cook the sausage (make sure to take it out of the casings!). Over medium heat, cook the sausage until it is browned and cooked through, about 10 minutes. Once it’s cooked, add the meat and fat to the mixing bowl with the bread cubes.
Add the remaining ingredients, and stir until the bread cubes are covered. Transfer the stuffing to the baking dish (wiped down with butter or cooking spray) and bake for 65-75 minutes.
Once the stuffing looks crispy and brown, pull it out of the oven and enjoy!

That’s It!

We’d love to hear what you think of the recipe! Give us a call at (585) 900 – 1111!
